Bill Benton is a statistics consultant and educator. Bill has extensive experience in demand forecasting, supply chain optimization, market research, economics and financial analysis. He has used SAS and other statistics systems extensively, including TreeNet data mining software. Recently he has worked on economic forecasting projects with Visa Corp using SAS, TreeNet and R.
Bill managed forecasting and related inventory and production software for large companies (Safeway, McKesson) and helped design major forecasting applications for IBM. He has provided software, consulting and training to many organizations in fields including investment, finance, banking, medical research (UCSF), food and drug distribution and manufacturing.
Benton is an Ivy League graduate. He attended Columbia and later taught math at the University of California, Berkeley, and statistics and quantitative business methods at other universities. He was program chair of Quantitative Methods in a large MBA program. Bill has offices in San Francisco and New York City and is associated with a SAS consultancy in Silicon Valley.
